Reply:I've never heard of a Monelle Payne before but violin/viola makes often like putting their names inside the instruments as a "this is my work"





He probably isn't famous yet, or else it would've been hard to buy





the name under his name is Antonio Stradivarius, the most accomplished string instrument maker in history, anyone of his instruments go easily over millions of dollars, yo yo ma I think has one of his cellos





many makers copy the look or the style of those of Stradivarius, and therefore put his name under their own name, stating "this is a copy of a stradivarius, not a real" Good violin makers are very good at making the instrument look like almost identicals of the strads, but of course the quality is not comparable
