Does anyone else play viola??

Hey so I'm a violist and I love playing the viola! Just wondering if anyone shares my passion or just has anyone thoughts on violas :)

i play the viola too! i didn't think it was a very common instrument. i love playing it too, i enjoy it a lot! i play for my school and i think it kinda sucks though how the violins get all the credit and the good parts in the songs.
Reply:Yay!! More violists!!! The violins get the better parts b/c they have a highe pitch. OMG, that rocks. I love playing the viola, but in our orchestra, we have 14 violins, 3 cellos, 3 violas and no basses! I think that seems a little unbalanced, don't you? I wish i had seen this before it ended! Reply:I play the viola - I learned it in seventh grade and played while I was in college. Orchestra was my favorite class in college even though I was a math major. Now I live in a small town where there is no orchestra so I can only play along with CDs. Although once a year I get to play "Messiah" in a nearby church! I love playing too. I must admit that I originally liked it because the parts were easier than violin parts! But now I think it sounds mellower and not as shrill.

Reply:Yes...it is a little diffrent from a violin and I'm proud of that..
Reply:my sisters have been playing the viola and violin for over 30 years now, I can't say i enjoyed it when i was born...but now i love it. It's a great instrument, and very classy.
