How much is the most expensive Viola? Who owns it? (not violin!)?

I want to know who has the most expensive Viola (the string instrument) in the world and how much it is worth. Note that it's VIOLA, not the violin. I couldn't find any information anywhere.

Well Stardivarius made a number of violas so it is probably one of his instruments. I cannot name which one or how much it is worth. He only made 12 violas so they must be worth a lot of money.

With so few on the market , it is difficult to give a value on what one would be worth if it were to be sold tomorrow. Most of these instruments belong to museums and are not bought and sold very often..

There is a Guarneri Viola (1664) in completely original condition in the National Music Museum at the University of South Dakota. This would also be a very rare and valuable instrument.
Reply:My guess would be a Strad in a museum, worth millions.
Reply:It's hard to put a price on a truly exceptional instrument, no matter what instrument it is. Stradivarius's instruments are auctioned to whoever bids the highest, almost always going into the millions. The most expensive instrument would be the one with the highest bid. So basically the most expensive Viola in the world would belong to someone who was rich enough and wanted it enough to spend several millions of dollars.
Reply:Even if you could find the information, it might not be correct. No one is obliged to disclose the worth of his viola.
