Please help.

Viola bow problem!?
This happens all the time to people who buy new stringed instruments and/or bows, and don't have a teacher to help them, initially: No new bow will play unless you rosin it a great deal. The bow hair won't "catch" the strings, and no sound can be produced.
Reply:you need to tighten it turn the little silver kknob at the bottom of the bow and the rosin is to be put on the strings so the strings move eaiser across the viola.
