what are the names of some viola composers?? i think it was a german name...

Reply:This is not very much info to go on unfortunately....there are many composers out there who wrote pieces for the viola but were not exclusively writing for viola. I'll just list for you what I can...hopefully it will help:





Just in case you didn't know...Before the 20th cent., there was not a ton of music being written for viola soloists, although there are wks that have been transcribed.

Reply:William Walton wrote a well known viola concerto - Maxim Vengerov has recorded it. Stamitz, Bartok, Bruch and Hummel also wrote a Viola Concertos.
