Rosalind, Viola, or Miranda?

I was an English Major, so her name should be from a literary source, as a token of whom I once wanted to be. These are not the most beloved names in baby naming, but they are my favorite characters in all of literature, in order:

1) Rosalind

2) Naomi

3) Rebecca

4) Anya (Anna Sergeyevna)

5) Viola

6) Miranda

That's three from Shakespeare, two from the Bible, and one from Chekhov.

For the middle name, I am going with grandmother names. They are Sharon, Margaret, Sandra, and Isabel. Sandra and Isabel have requested that we not use their names, but ultimately it is our decision. I will probably respect Isabel's wishes due to her having grown sons that have not bred yet.

It is likely to be either Rosalind Sharon or Naomi Margaret, but I am not committed to either one yet. Which do you like better? Who are your own favorite (female) literary characters? Your responses might remind me of who I was in love with once. Please no Harry Potter or LOTR!

Rosalind, Viola, or Miranda?
I really like both Rosalind Sharon and Naomi Margaret, but I would have to say Rosalind Sharon would be my favorite. My favorite female literary characters are: Ophelia (Hamlet), Daisy Buchanan (The Great Gatsby), Sonya (Crime and Punishment), Emma Clery (Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man), Catherine Earnshaw (Wuthering Heights), Beth March (Little Women), Anna Karenina (Anna Karenina) and I couldn't leave out Scarlett O'Hara (Gone With the Wind)
Reply:Hey, fellow English major! I love "Miranda". But I adore the name "Juliet".

I like "Rosalind Sharon" more than "Naomi Margaret".

In answer to your other question, I love "Elizabeth Bennett" from "Pride and Prejudice".

Best wishes to you.
Reply:I like Naomi Margaret, but I think Naomi Isabelle is even prettier. It's odd that you had grandparents ask that they're names not be used--I have every family member under the sun insisting I use their name!!

Congrats and Best Wishes!!
Reply:I love Rosalind with either Margaret or Sharon, or Viola Sharon. However they are all great choices, unique, beautiful, and classic.
Reply:I like Miranda Isabel. Of the two you are leaning toward, I like Rosalind Sharon the most; but I still think Miranda Isabel sounds better!
Reply:Naomi is my name : )

I like Miranda; it reminds me of that gorgeous supermodel, mirads kerr and it is also a pretty name.
Reply:I like Roslin or Rosalin better than Rosalind

I like Violet better than Viola

I don't really like any of the others.

Good luck

Reply:Rosalind Margaret!
Reply:I love Rosalind (one of MY choices while naming) and I love Viola and Anya..

My first choice would be Anya Margaret..
Reply:Viola Ingrid
Reply:to long couldn't be bothered to read it sorry
Reply:I love Naomi Margaret! It is a great name, from really great sources!! :o) I was an English major as well, so I can relate to your love of literature. Some of my favorites from Shakespeare are Beatrice and Bianca (I like Beatrice Margaret and Bianca Sharon). From the Bible, I also like Esther (you could call her Essie, maybe?). One author I currently really like is Sophie Kinsella (very fun reads)...and I think Sophie is an adorable name. :o) I'm also a big Janet Evanovich fan. Her main character is Stephanie, which is another sweet name. :o) Those aren't superb literary works, but they sure are fun!

I hope that helps! Good luck!
